LifeFormations specializes in the design and fabrication of animatronic figures, sculpted elements, exhibits, and interactive experiences. Our work can be found in leading theme parks, museums, science centers, and branded spaces all over the world. Purpose
This is a position within the LF Surfaces Studio which will involve the fabrication, assembly and finishing of skins, shells and surfaces across a variety of mechanical and static elements. Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates would have experience working with multiple surface materials such as 3D printed materials (e.g. Glass Filled Nylon, PLA, and resins), Fiberglass, Epoxy, and Silicone; as well as a working knowledge of mechanical hardware and fasteners, metal fabrication (e.g. grinding & welding), and mechanical assembly. Candidate must be a team player, problem solver, self-motivated to achieve superior quality and efficiency, curious, and have a critical eye for bringing many parts together into a single creative element. Job Duties and Responsibilities
3D Print and Shell ‘Cleanup’. Master Modeling Produce molding/tooling for various-sized parts. Casting parts in various media. Shell fit-up/assembly and bodywork skills. Complete Surface Quality tracking as required by each project. Identify potential ways to improve efficiency. Maintain shop safety guidelines and practices. Additional Responsibilities
Travel to assist on installs. Cross-training to develop skillsets and support other departments. Requirements
1-2 years' minimum experience in a similar role or fabrication shop. Working knowledge of fiberglass molding and casting techniques and applications. A detail-oriented multitasker with great communication skills and the ability to easily adapt to changing circumstances. Experience with hand and power tools. Driver’s license required. High school diploma or GED required. This position is full-time; must have flexibility in your schedule to allow for extended hours as needed on a project-by-project basis. Compensations
