Position Summary and Responsibilities Working from your home office in Oregon, the Advisory Teacher will virtually assist students, parents, and learning coaches and serve as the initial point of contact for student concerns spanning multiple subject areas and non‑academic issues. The Advisory Teacher will monitor student progress and collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administrators to guide student success.
Advise students and families on academics, career planning, and graduation.
Assist with secondary school course selection and development of a Four‑Year Plan.
Advise on dropping courses and changing schedules, ensuring adherence to school policies.
Retrieve and forward student records with administrative assistants.
Implement programs addressing interpersonal adjustment issues.
Help families access school and community resources.
Participate in crisis prevention and management plans; serve as key member of the Student Support Team (SST).
Identify and track at‑risk or crisis students; maintain communication.
Maintain each student’s Personal Learning Plan (PLP).
Ensure complete and accurate student records.
Support families during the withdrawal process.
Report and refer critical incidents per law and regulations.
Assist with mid‑semester enrollment and integration into coursework.
Coordinate with the Curriculum Team to meet state requirements.
Support professional development for teachers and staff.
Assume teaching and grading duties as needed, including middle school elective courses.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Oregon teacher certification in a secondary content area and/or counseling license required.
Middle School and/or High School experience preferred.
Strong technology skills (especially Microsoft Office).
Excellent oral and written communication.
Customer‑focused approach.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
High degree of flexibility.
Team player with leadership skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events (possible overnight travel).
Must have a personal electronic device and an email address for two‑step authentication.
Salary and Benefits The anticipated starting salary for Oregon‑based applicants ranges from $40,000 to $54,000 per year. Eligible employees can view benefits at
