Position Title: Transportation Services Representative 1
Job Description
Assist the public with obtaining a driver license, registering vehicles and issuing permits and license plates.
Administer knowledge, skill, and vision tests to potential drivers, ensure correct fees are collected, provide information about regulations and policies, and administer behind‑the‑wheel drive tests.
Provide customer service, ensuring privacy laws adherence and clear communication.
Produce photo licenses, instruction permits, and identification cards.
Administer, correct, and explain driver license tests; conduct and interpret results of driver vision tests.
Perform physical examinations of vehicles and verify vehicle identification numbers.
Prepare daily bank deposits and account for sensitive inventory.
Occasionally perform relief work in other DMV offices.
Stand for extended periods, work in inclement weather, irregular schedule, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Type at least 30 words per minute with high accuracy; a typing assessment will be conducted at interview.

Minimum Qualifications Two years of public contact/customer service experience dealing with the public in person or by phone, providing information about services/programs, rules, regulations, and procedures.
Three months experience collecting money and making change.
Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
Completion of an associate’s degree will substitute for one year of public contact experience.
Special qualifications:
Driving is an essential function. Must have a valid U.S. driver license and acceptable driving record. License may not be issued in Oregon. Pre‑employment driving record checks will be conducted on final candidate(s).
