Position Overview PersonalRx is seeking an experienced and motivated
Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Manager
to lead our pharmacy operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, managing day-to-day pharmacy functions, and driving quality and performance across our pharmacy team.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in pharmacy operations management, team leadership, and regulatory compliance — and thrives in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the designated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with full accountability for all pharmacy operations
Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA, Medicare, and Medicaid standards
Lead, mentor, and support a team of 5–10 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
Partner with the Operations Manager to streamline workflow, improve productivity, and maintain exceptional service levels
Collaborate with executive leadership to implement strategic initiatives, expand service offerings, and improve operational efficiency
Manage and monitor inventory, including procurement, storage, and controlled substance handling
Oversee and enforce quality assurance, audit readiness, and process improvement initiatives
Act as the primary contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and third-party payer reviews
Evaluate and integrate pharmacy technology systems; ensure staff are properly trained and compliant
Resolve escalated patient issues and maintain a strong focus on patient-centered care
Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in New York (required)
Minimum 5–7 years of pharmacy operations experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or PIC role
Strong understanding of USP, DEA, FDA, and NY State Board of Pharmacy regulations
Proven experience leading teams and managing workflow in a complex pharmacy environment
Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and related software
Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership skills
Commitment to patient safety, quality, and service excellence
Preferred Skills
Experience in specialty or mail-order pharmacy operations
Familiarity with Medicare Part D and third-party payer processes
Strong analytical and process-improvement skills
