Position Overview We are seeking a
Global Category Manager – Logistics
to join our Indirect Procurement Team at INNIO. In this key role, you will be an integral part of INNIO’s global procurement network, responsible for all indirect procurement activities that ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality operations. Logistics Procurement is essential to aligning transportation, warehousing, and supply chain services with INNIO’s requirements, ensuring our products and projects continue to exceed customer and market expectations.
This strategic individual contributor position reports directly to the Team Lead – Procurement Services US Regions. The role offers a hybrid work structure, combining onsite presence at our Houston, TX location with remote work flexibility.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies for logistics services in the Americas, including transportation, freight forwarding, warehousing, and supply chain services
Identify, select, and further develop strategic logistics partners in close collaboration with internal stakeholders
Build and execute structured supplier relationship management plans
Lead contract negotiations and manage existing framework agreements within the logistics category
Collaborate closely with business leaders to define and align logistics strategies
Support the optimization of supply chain processes with a focus on cost, quality, service, and sustainability
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect procurement, ideally with a focus on logistics or supply chain management
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
Experience in international procurement projects, with strong negotiation and contracting skills
Fluency in English; additional languages such as German or Spanish are an advantage
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
High level of self-motivation, results orientation, and entrepreneurial mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Oracle ERP is preferred
Willingness to travel at least 20% to support and develop our global supplier base
