Position: RN Cardiac/Telemetry- Zanesville, OH Location : Zanesville, OH 43701 Project Duration : 12 Weeks Shift : Days 7a - 7:30p
Job Description: Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) will primarily provide patient-centered care on the 4 South Cardiac Unit, with occasional floating to other Medical-Surgical units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders. The RN will deliver safe, evidence-based care to patients with complex cardiac and telemetry needs, while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac and telemetry monitoring needs. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while maintaining accurate documentation. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care. Float to designated Med-Surg units as assigned to support patient care needs. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding cardiac conditions, medications, and discharge plans.
Qualifications: Active RN license. BLS and ACLS certifications – required. Epic EMR proficiency – required (no refresher training or 1:1 assistance provided). Minimum 3 years of current/recent experience in Telemetry and/or Stepdown units. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to adapt to float assignments across multiple Med-Surg specialties.
