Location:
The Watergate Hotel is centrally located in Washington, D.C., within walking distance of theaters, museums, and national memorials.
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional service to guests with personalized, efficient, and friendly check‑in and check‑out procedures.
Handle and assist with resolution of all guest issues; communicate with appropriate departments and follow up to ensure complete satisfaction.
Possess a high level of expertise on all services and outlet offerings of the hotel, banquet events, group services, and local attractions.
Handle cash drawer properly in accordance with hotel cash‑handling policies.
Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating with and assisting fellow associates as needed.
Address guest preferences recorded in history profiles; review and update profiles as required.
Stay current with developments by attending daily front‑office briefings.
Provide quality service by responding to requests promptly and courteously during all guest interactions.
Arrange fulfillment of guest services by coordinating with Concierge, Housekeeping, PBX, Reservations, and Room Service.
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence (fax, voicemail, email, postal mail).
Communicate clearly with the Night Auditor and Accounting Department.
Assist guests with arrival and departure experiences by maintaining a consistent presence on the front desk and in the lobby.
Close each shift effectively and correctly, run all required reports, and maintain high attention to detail.
Perform any other reasonable projects or duties as required by the Director of Front Office Operations or Assistant Front Office Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 2+ years experience in hotel operations, preferably in a similar position; luxury hotel experience strongly preferred.
Excellent communication skills with fluency in English required.
Computer proficiency, including MS Office and hotel‑specific software such as HotSOS or Opera.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnights, early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to meet job demands, such as standing/walking for extended periods.
Superior organizational and multitasking skills; flexibility and adaptability needed in a fast‑paced environment.
Multilingual abilities preferred.
HS Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or related field preferred.
