Battery Modeling Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, MI. Contract position.
Job Summary Our client is seeking a Battery Modeling Engineer to develop and enhance battery modeling tools and perform cell performance and ageing simulations to support innovation projects.
Responsibilities
Develop/enhance numerical tools to implement and couple the physical phenomena governing battery cell performance and safety.
Perform cell performance and ageing simulations for cell technology innovation projects.
Assist with Technology Readiness Level evaluations, providing virtual analysis results.
Scouting, analyzing, and assessing promising technologies from various sources.
Contribute to mid‑ and long‑term roadmaps for cell electrochemistry.
Collaborate with virtual engineering teams and supporting technical teams.
Arbitrate decisions on relative perimeter and escalates major gaps.
Basics
Engineering Degree in Materials, Electrical, Electrochemistry or related field.
Experience in lithium‑ion battery technologies and materials.
3+ years of experience in cell electrochemistry modeling.
Proficient in numerical modeling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, COMSOL, and GT‑AutoLion.
Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
Master’s or PhD in Materials Engineering or Electrochemistry.
5+ years of experience in cell electrochemistry modeling.
Excellent interpersonal skills for cross‑functional, multicultural, global teams.
Experience providing technical guidance during supplier technical reviews.
Fluent in English with excellent presentation skills.
