Assistant Professor - Practice Department: Dentistry | Radiology
Overview
The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University invites applications for a part‑time Assistant Professor – Practice position within the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (OMFR). The role focuses on providing clinical instruction to pre‑doctoral, post‑doctoral, and dental hygiene students, while engaging in scholarly activity and supporting the division’s mission.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide clinical instruction in OMFR to students in pre‑doctoral, post‑doctoral, and dental hygiene programs. Participate in scholarly activity and support the overall mission of the division.
Performance Objectives
Demonstrate evidence‑based teaching practices and maintain a strong track record of scholarly activity. Exhibit a passion for teaching and mentorship. Integrate advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning outcomes. Actively participate in clinical teaching activities consistent with division goals. Demonstrate effective teaching skills through student and peer reviews. Support a progressive model of dental education that includes innovative technologies, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient‑centered care, and evidence‑based practices. Provide interdisciplinary mentoring and guidance to students. Foster collaboration across divisions within the college. Engage in service through participation in college and/or university committees. Maintain active membership in professional organizations and contribute to the broader professional community. Exemplify and promote The Ohio State University’s Shared Values.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree (or equivalent) and be eligible for a teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board. Desired:
Clinical teaching experience in an academic setting.
