$120,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
The Capacity Planner plays a critical role in driving the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the supply plan and capacity requirements plan to align with organizational demand and strategic objectives. Reporting to the SIOP Manager, the Capacity Planner works cross-functionally with key departments to ensure seamless operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, consensus, and presentation of the monthly supply plan through the SIOP process
Facilitate supply planning meetings and ensure alignment across departments (Operations, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Procurement, and Product Management)
Execute and monitor Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Master Production Scheduling (MPS) in the ERP system
Serve as a subject matter expert and key contributor to the enhancement of supply planning systems as part of the company’s digital strategy
Design and implement Resource Requirements Planning (RRP) and Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) tools and processes
Perform capacity modeling and scenario planning to recommend improvements in network efficiency, asset utilization, and capital investments
Develop analytical tools and dashboards to enhance planning accuracy and team efficiency
Define and track KPIs to assess supply plan effectiveness (OEE, utilization, capacity vs. plan, etc.)
Support the development of optimal manufacturing strategies using Total Landed Cost (TLC) methodologies
Apply change management principles to successfully drive process and system improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in supply chain planning or operations
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power BI
Hands‑on experience with MRP systems required
ERP experience preferred (SAP S/4HANA, JDE, Microsoft Dynamics AX)
Familiarity with advanced planning tools (Kinaxis, Arkieva, Logility, or similar) preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment
Willingness to travel up to 25%
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily office‑based with occasional work in production areas requiring PPE
Regularly required to sit, walk, and use hands; occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
May involve air and auto travel
Visual acuity for computer and manufacturing environments
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
