Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Quality/Engineer Quality. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Sector in Palmdale, CA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Assurance organization.
Duties
Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Quality (T01)
Be completing or has completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.
Be majoring in or having majored in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial engineering, or similar STEM degree.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Quality (T02)
Be completing or has completed a Master’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.
Be majoring in or having majored in list degree majors that are acceptable for the position or similar STEM degree.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications (T01/T02)
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional, community, extracurricular).
Pay Range
Associate Engineer Quality: $67,400 - $101,000
Engineer Quality: $81,300 - $121,900
