What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated, talented and team oriented R&D cell engineering technician to work on preparation of battery cell components and prototype cell fabrication in order to support dry electrode process optimization and development for lithium ion batteries. The successful candidate will be part of the cell development team and take direction from engineers, and assist cell evaluation and development led by engineers. This position will be 100% hands‑on work in an R&D laboratory. What You’ll Do
Prepare battery cell components such as electrode, separator and pouch case by cutting, welding and drying for battery cell assembly Fabricate various prototype battery cell configurations Document cell component preparations and prototype cell assembly with travelers and SOP documents and input into the database system Assist or carry out operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including procurement of cell components Communicate work with team and report technical results and status of work to supervisor/manager What You’ll Bring
At least 1 year of work experience in a hands‑on technical position in an R&D laboratory environment Experience related to battery cell component process and prototype Li‑ion cell fabrication is a plus Familiarity with MS Windows and Office software Ability to document travelers, test results and SOP using MS Office programs Comfortable working in a moisture‑controlled dry‑room environment Very good communication skills enabling collaboration with cross‑functional teams Ability to comprehend direction and execute technical experiments with minor supervision to assist engineers Ability to interpret requirements into planned direction and execution Strong support and execution of job responsibilities to propel team progress Benefits
