Project Scheduler (P6) Electrical Construction
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
Project Scheduler
to join our commercial and industrial electrical contracting team. The Project Scheduler will play a critical role in the successful planning and execution of projects by developing, maintaining, and monitoring schedules across all phases—from conceptual project planning to detailed crew-level task planning. This individual will ensure projects are accurately resourced, production is tracked against plans, and schedule risks are identified early to support proactive management.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain project schedules from conceptual milestones through detailed execution schedules.
Create short-interval (look-ahead) schedules to support field supervision and crew-level task planning.
Update and track project schedules regularly to reflect actual progress, identifying variances between planned and actual production.
Develop need-by-dates for BIM, submittals, procurement, and prefab to support project milestone requirements.
Resource-load schedules with labor manhours to support accurate forecasting and manpower planning.
Generate crew size requirements based on workload and productivity expectations.
Coordinate resource allocation with field operations to align with project needs.
Understand predecessor and successor relationships with other trades to ensure proper sequencing and minimize conflicts.
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and other trade partners to optimize schedules.
Track and report on actual production versus planned production, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Provide regular schedule updates and reports to project management and clients.
Support schedule-related documentation for project claims, delays, or acceleration.
Qualifications and Skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent field scheduling experience.
3+ years of scheduling experience in construction, preferably within commercial and industrial electrical contracting.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing and electrical trade activities.
Ability to resource-load schedules and perform earned value and productivity analysis.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both office and field personnel.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
