Position Summary The Senior Acquisitions Associate will be responsible for identifying, researching, analyzing, negotiating and closing real estate deals that meet specified investment criteria. This role is also responsible for conducting all due diligence procedures for acquisitions. The Senior Acquisitions Associate is expected to build and maintain strong relationships in the real estate industry, assess changing market conditions and identify investment opportunities, and demonstrate strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Identify viable real estate acquisitions through market and online research, market visits, leveraging broker networks and other relationships in the real estate industry.

Underwrite each deal and oversee the input and completion of the financial models by the analyst.

Formulate a business plan and oversee and assist in the due diligence process.

Present potential deals to executive management for review and approval.

Assist in negotiations and communications with sellers and brokers.

Work with legal counsel on all aspects of the deal, including identification of legal matters at target properties.

Lead the closing of real estate transactions.

Develop and cultivate relationships in the real estate industry, including brokers, national tenants, JV partners, capital sources, and institutional firms.

Attend and participate in major industry conferences.

Conduct site visits, tenant interviews, and manage all 3rd party vendors.

Review all pertinent information including leases, financial information, title documents, and property documents for any potential issues.

Work with legal counsel on all aspects of due diligence.

Prepare due diligence report and present to the acquisitions team and leadership.

Assist acquisitions in the closing of the property.

Prepare transition report and present to the asset management team.

Skills / Knowledge Required

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Underwriting, market research and financial analysis experience required.

Minimum 5-7 years of real estate acquisitions experience.

Thorough understanding of the retail, industrial and office industries, hospitality and multifamily a plus.

Expert in financial modeling.

Solid attention to detail and organization, along with excellent written skills.

Must possess the ability to multitask, meet deadlines and communicate effectively with internal and outside stakeholders.

Self-Starter with the ability to prioritize projects and manage workload.
