Job Summary In the role of
Chief of Technology (CTO) , you will serve as a key member of the executive team, responsible for setting BOXABL’s technology vision and strategy. The CTO will lead cross-functional teams in the IT department, product development, manufacturing technology, automation, and IT systems to ensure BOXABL remains at the forefront of innovation in modular housing. This role requires a leader who is both strategic and hands‑on—capable of guiding long-term R&D while ensuring day‑to‑day engineering and technology execution.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Define and execute BOXABL’s technology roadmap aligned with business goals and growth objectives.
Stay ahead of emerging technologies in modular construction, automation, robotics, and sustainable materials.
Partner with executive leadership to drive product innovation, manufacturing scalability, and continuous improvement.
Lead R&D initiatives to improve energy efficiency, durability, and cost‑effectiveness of BOXABL products.
Collaborate with operations and manufacturing to ensure technology supports mass production at scale.
Drive adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, including robotics, IoT, automation systems, and digital twin modeling.
Ensure seamless integration of product design with production capabilities.
Implement systems that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
Build, mentor, and scale high‑performing engineering and technology teams.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Attract and retain top technical talent aligned with BOXABL’s mission.
Oversee BOXABL’s digital systems, data management, and cybersecurity strategy.
Support the development of digital customer platforms and integration with business systems.
Leverage data and analytics to optimize decision‑making across the organization.
Represent BOXABL’s technology vision to investors, partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
Build strategic relationships with technology vendors, research institutions, and industry leaders. Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field required; advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD) preferred.
12+ years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, technology, or product development, ideally in construction tech, modular housing, manufacturing, or related industries.
Proven track record of scaling technology organizations and delivering complex products at mass production scale.
Deep understanding of modular construction, prefabrication, advanced manufacturing, and automation systems.
Ability to balance big‑picture strategy with hands‑on technical execution.
Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment.
Experience with IT systems, cybersecurity, ERP, and digital platforms.
