SSA Group at the Museum of Pop Culture is seeking a talented Manager of Catering Operations to join our team. The role requires a blend of culinary leadership, event coordination, and financial oversight to create memorable experiences for guests and partners.

Base Pay Range $81,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Job Summary The Manager, Catering Operations supports the Event/Catering Sales and Culinary teams by leading the planning, coordination, execution, and quality control of events. This position ensures seamless delivery and consistent customer satisfaction across all events.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement detailed plans for catering events, including event orders, pull sheets, execution timelines, staffing schedules, visual appeal, and logistics layouts.

Coordinate with sales representatives to understand event requirements and ensure all details are accurately captured and executed.

Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of events, ensuring all aspects run smoothly and efficiently.

Ensure all equipment, supplies, and materials are available and in good working condition.

Walk event spaces with Sales Team to confirm readiness and address issues promptly.

Communicate and collaborate with Sales, Culinary, and other departments to develop and implement new strategies and procedures for flawless event execution.

Attend weekly BEO meetings to review upcoming events.

Distribute Operations Plan revisions when necessary.

Advise Sales Team on outstanding balances post‑event.

Collaborate on floorplans, event flow, and cross‑utilized equipment.

Create eye‑catching F&B displays with Culinary Team.

Oversee product levels, inventory, and equipment maintenance.

Maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, ensuring repeat business and client satisfaction.

Conduct pre‑event meetings and post‑event follow‑ups to gather feedback.

Act as client day‑of contact for catering services.

Maintain vendor communication, negotiating pricing and contracts to optimize cost and quality.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, maintain a safe workplace, and uphold company policies.

Develop, monitor, and exceed monthly and annual catering operations budgets and plans.

Analyze operational costs and inventory to maximize opportunities and minimize waste.

Report weekly and monthly performance to stakeholders, including labor forecasting and event P&L statements.

Promote an inclusive, sustainable, and community‑focused culture within the unit.

Perform other related duties as required.

Financial management, analytical, and planning skills.

Adaptability in fast‑paced environments.

Basic computer proficiency.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle boxes up to 35 lbs.

Comfortable working outdoors, including exposure to elements (if outdoor venues).

Willingness to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Previous Experience

Minimum 4 years in catering operations and/or event planning management (off‑site catering, hotel, cultural attraction venue).

Experience with Tripleseat is a plus.

All education backgrounds eligible; must be 18 or older.

Compensation & Benefits

Full‑Time, Exempt.

Final compensation based on experience, education, and internal equity.
