Vice President, Development
About the Job Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Development leads all donor income for the center. The position builds long‑term and project‑specific growth strategies across a diversified supporter base composed of individual donors, corporations, foundations, and government grant sources. This leader guides a team that creatively translates the organization’s mission into a community of donors who fund its work. The role motivates a high‑performing team, ensures effective systems and processes, and owns relationships with the largest & most strategic donors. The VP also maintains productive relationships with internal departments and three Boards of Directors, working collaboratively as a member of the executive leadership team.
Responsibilities The VP will:
Develop and execute donor income strategies, including managing program and staff development initiatives.
Lead and inspire a dynamic team, ensuring efficient systems and processes.
Serve as the primary relationship owner for key donors, building long‑term commitments.
Collaborate with internal departments and the Board to align fundraising goals with the organization’s mission.
Qualifications
Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in a complex development context.
At least five years of managing development programs and staff.
Deep understanding of the Miami/South Florida community.
