We are looking for a creative News Producer to join
KOMO/KUNS
with immediate start. The role involves day-to-day production of newscasts, working closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk and Anchors to determine content and flow, generate and write stories, and develop website content.
Responsibilities The News Producer will:
Determine the content and flow of newscasts.
Generate and write stories.
Develop content for the website.
Collaborate with management and on-air staff.
Qualifications
Solid news judgment.
Compelling, accurate writing.
Multitasking and time management to produce an exciting and informative newscast.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts.
Flexibility and on‑the‑spot problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency with non‑linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems such as iNews.
Experience
At least 2 years producing a daily newscast.
Preferred 4‑year journalism degree.

Compensation and Benefits The hourly compensation range for this role is $29.27 to $38.07. Final compensation will be based on relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full‑time positions are eligible for benefits including a retirement plan, incentive bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending account, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
