Position Summary We are looking for a Project Engineer to support NASA as an Oceaneering teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. In this role you will collaborate with the Systems Engineering and Technical Integration team, contributing to human spaceflight and deep space exploration programs.
Duties And Responsibilities
Develop project documentation and maintain status of drawings and procurements.
Work with the systems engineering team to ensure test strategies provide sufficient information on system performance and capabilities.
Inspect hardware upon receipt to verify match with fabrication drawings/models.
Build test rigs and equipment as needed and perform all system testing.
Develop test plans and reports.
Schedule testing with test facilities.
Develop a test schedule with systems engineering team.
Work with procurement personnel and vendors to order and secure procurements.
Analyze test results data.
Assist project management with configuration control of project documentation.
Develop test procedures and work with JSC organizations for flight certification of hardware.
Collaborate with the HLS program and provider to develop integrated operation concepts.
Develop presentations.
Develop logistics, manufacturing, and procurement plans.
Work in a team environment and report to the project manager and lead systems engineer to provide status on progress and issues and support.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications Required
B.S. Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of two years of experience.
Experience with development of project planning documents.
Experience with design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware systems.
Knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures in space hardware field including mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools.
Ability to prepare written documents and verbally present at various meetings.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Experience with cost and budget analysis.
Experience working in an integrated product team.
Preferred
Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
Prior experience working in a system development project/program.
Familiarity with feasibility assessments and trade studies.
Understanding of the Moon2Mars mission and concept of operations.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
