Job Summary EVS Associate – Inpatient performs daily cleaning tasks in patient areas, office, public, and other non‑patient areas. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, equipment cleaning, and project cleaning in an assigned area. This role is part of the healthcare team and requires respectful and compassionate communication with patients, families, and staff.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform multiple‑step cleaning procedures, including daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, discharge bed making, O.R. cleaning, between‑case cleaning, upholstery, wall, and glass care. Continue work from previous shift, report incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
Conduct dry and wet mopping of common areas using appropriate equipment such as a floor care machine. Perform floor and carpet care techniques, such as carpet bonneting and extraction.
Respond to stat orders (discharges, spills, floods) and all hospital‑wide emergency drills. Clean organic body waste (blood, feces, sputum, urine) and patient equipment (IV poles, commodes, monitors and cables, specialty equipment, stretchers, wheelchairs, cardiac chairs). Assist with moves and special set‑ups as needed.
Collect solid and contaminated waste, seal boxes in the area of generation, and deliver to designated compactor areas.
Use department procedures to prepare and select cleaning solutions. Report low supply of inventory, sign equipment in and out of storage areas, keep cart clean and orderly, and report malfunctioning equipment. Deliver soiled mops, cleaning cloths, and linen to designated areas.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
0–1 year of related work experience.
Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web‑based applications.

Physical Nature Of The Job Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical; employee must stand and move around for majority of shift.
Pay Range $17.00 – $22.88 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as seniority, education, training, experience, certifications, location, job responsibilities, shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other applicable practices.
