Pay Range
Base salary: $110,000.00 – $220,000.00 per year
Additional compensation: annual or quarterly performance bonuses, stock options (see details below)
Location: Bentonville, Arkansas – $110,000.00 – $220,000.00 (Sunnyvale, California – $143,000.00 – $286,000.00)
About the Team We drive Walmart’s Growth and Revenue product lines, building cloud‑native, highly scalable platforms that provide brands with rich customer insights. Our stack includes React Native, React.js, Angular, .NET C# microservices, Kafka, SQL, CosmosDB, Azure, CI/CD pipelines and more.
Responsibilities
Design and architect distributed, event‑driven microservices; plan for scalability, re‑usability, platform‑agnostic design, disaster recovery, ETL and data design.
Convert high‑level designs into detailed designs with mock screens, pseudocode and functional logic.
Lead and mentor small project teams, providing guidance, documentation and timelines.
Support the business by responding to technical questions, researching solutions and communicating implications.
Manage projects from requirements gathering to coding, communication and delivery across cross‑functional teams.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, develop action plans and document results.
Participate in discovery phases and produce high‑level designs in partnership with product, project, business and UX teams.
Apply best practices and latest technology features to improve processes and tools.
Build relationships with stakeholders, identify business needs, monitor progress and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
Model compliance with company policies, ethics and the Open Door policy, guiding others in implementation.
Qualifications
Extensive experience developing backend applications and data pipelines.
Expert knowledge of C# or Java.
Experience refactoring, redesigning or rewriting existing applications.
Disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation and code structure.
Passion for learning and adopting the latest technologies.
Technical mindset with strong attention to detail.
Experience using modern development methodologies such as Agile.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field, and at least 6 years of related experience (or 4 years with a bachelor’s). Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards and digital accessibility best practices is valued.
