Finance Manager, S3/Glacier Finance at Amazon

AWS S3 and Glacier Finance seeks a world-class Finance Manager to be a key member of its team. This position will work closely with key business partners to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the S3 and Glacier services space.
Key Responsibilities
Drive controllership by managing capital spend reporting, tracking KPIs, and performing variance analysis.
Develop financial insights and narratives during all planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
Closely partner with the S3 business team to drive capacity efficiency improvement.
Take the lead in financial planning and analysis; build complex financial models and analytical tools to set and track overall financial performance against goals.
Be a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization, and build scalable solutions to support business growth.
This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. It requires strong people skills.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role experience.
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations with proven impact.
MBA or CPA.
5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
Knowledge of SQL and Excel.
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
