The Treatment and Learning Centers (TLC) is dedicated to improving lives and expanding possibilities for individuals with disabilities through diagnostic, therapeutic, educational, and employment programs. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Director to join our leadership team and uphold our mission by fostering a professional, supportive, and compliant workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Recruit, train, and supervise HR staff
Oversee full-cycle recruitment, partnering with hiring managers and staffing agencies to meet organizational staffing needs
Review and approve all salary offers; conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
Analyze, recommend, and implement benefit program enhancements
Develop annual reports such as Risk Management, OSHA and Corporate Compliance
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and maintain TLC's Diversity and Accessibility Plans
Serve as the organization's Corporate Compliance Officer
Manage benefit administration, enrollment, and educational sessions; oversee COBRA and ERISA compliance
Oversee employment-related claims, including benefits and workers' compensation
Conduct exit interviews, track data, and provide trend analyses to leadership
Develop, interpret, and maintain personnel policies and procedures
Advise and support supervisors in handling employee relations, evaluations, and performance concerns
Lead the Health & Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with state and local safety regulations
Act as liaison between TLC, benefits brokers, and insurance representatives
Monitor benefits billing for accuracy and oversee compliance reporting (5500 filings, discrimination testing, etc.)
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required
Minimum 7 years of HR experience
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Deep knowledge of employment laws, compensation, and benefits administration
Experience developing and implementing policies and salary administration plans
Sound professional judgment and discretion in sensitive situations
Ability to motivate, coach, and support employees at all levels
Experience in a non-profit preferred
