– The Aero Process Quality Engineer will work within GTS Aero Operations Strategy Execution Team to select and qualify new Aero repair processes and suppliers, managing planning, qualifications steps execution, ensuring all Baker Hughes standard processes and procedures are correctly applied and aligned to Aero requirements.
Responsibilities
Supplier qualifications, action plans, pre‑audits
Leading and managing the technical assessment of the capability of repair sources, supported by Repair Engineer and Advanced Manufacturing Engineer as needed
Managing the eSQM system to open and close all qualification processes as per internal procedure including timeline management
Understanding engineering drawings and managing vendors
Advising functional managers on projects, processes and procedures in the own field
Handling communication with colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered
Supporting performance monitoring and assisting key suppliers toward industrial standards of excellence
Qualifications
Bachelor's mechanical degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Manufacturing/Service)
At least 5 years of experience in a Quality or Sourcing role
Proven ability to work collaboratively and influence cross‑functional teams
Good project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Ability to travel locally and internationally at short notice to customer offices or plant sites
Fluent written and spoken English
Desired
Aeroderivative technology knowledge
Experience with special processes (welding, brazing, coating, heat treatment, destructive & nondestructive testing, etc.)
5+ years of relevant experience in a Services industry
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (asset)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
Strong computer and system skills including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
