MOW YOLO APPROACH Meals on Wheels Yolo County (MOW Yolo) is seeking a Programs Operations Director to join our inspired team who will:

Advance the nutrition access and capacity expansion objectives of the MOW Yolo Strategic Plan, prioritizing food security and socialization so seniors can “Eat Well, Age Well” in Yolo County and beyond.

Establish and steward sound, innovate operational leadership, inclusive of logistics and facilities management, meal production oversight, procurement, technology integration, and fleet management for an organization currently producing more than 12,000 meals weekly.

Engage with staff to oversee the design and delivery of existing and future senior nutrition programs, including regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.

Participate in the executive leadership team and overall organization management, particularly as operations scale to expand social enterprise and initiate CalAIM Community Supports opportunities for medically‑tailored meals.

Serve as an inspiring supervisor to middle managers in the Food Services and Programs Departments, ensuring alignment with operational goals and providing training and development opportunities.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners alike.

Positively represent MOW Yolo both internally and externally.

POSITION SUMMARY The Programs Operations Director is responsible for the strategic direction and successful operational management of all programs and logistics related to meal production and service delivery. The Director ensures efficient and high‑quality performance of MOW Yolo’s commitments to local meal recipients and related governing agencies, as well as regional nutrition services partners. This role emphasizes operational excellence, resource management, and continuous improvement while leading a team, maintaining compliance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. As part of the senior leadership team, this role plays a crucial part in driving the organization’s operational stability and scalability, while upholding the values of collaboration, integrity, and accountability.

USUAL WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION Full‑time, exempt, Monday‑Friday with schedule flexibility. Evening/weekend/after‑hours work required. Work locations include time spent at either the Woodland Administrative Office or the Winters MOW‑Sutter Health Senior Nutrition Meal Production Facility, in the field, or from a remote setting.

Operational leadership and logistics management

Programmatic and meal production oversight

Regulatory compliance and reporting

Technology integration

Fleet management

Internal/cross‑department and external collaboration

Leadership team participation and inspiring staff supervision to reach strategic plan objectives and fulfill the mission.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Two years’ full‑time work experience in logistics (coordinating and moving resources—people, materials, inventory, or equipment—from one location to another) or a similar field.

At least one year or more of food distribution experience is desirable.

At least one year or more of social services/nonprofit programs design/delivery experience is desirable.

At least two years of full‑time leadership experience as a supervisor is preferred.

Combination of relevant education/training and experience related to logistics, supply chain management, or related fields.

Proficient at using and/or learning electronic systems. Comfortable working with Microsoft Office Suite; Google Workspace familiarity is a plus.

Adapt and respond flexibly, creatively, and patiently to a dynamic work environment.

POSITION LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Current California Driver’s License

Proof of automobile insurance

ServSafe Food certification (MOW Yolo pays for this training if needed)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $90,000‑$100,000 per year plus benefits, including 100% paid medical, dental, and vision, unlimited vacation, sick time accrual, 11 paid holidays annually, and the option to participate in a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan.
