You will be using your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify, and improve cutting‑edge software products. Our team develops advanced electronic mission payloads for planes, helicopters, ground vehicles, ships, and more. You'll design, code, debug, test, and troubleshoot systems and software throughout the product lifecycle.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn‑key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities
Works as part of a larger Agile software development team
Develops software that is trusted by US Special Operations Forces (SOF) to accomplish their demanding missions
Designs, implements, documents, tests, and debugs embedded software and systems that prioritize reliability and performance
Follows and contributes to continuously improving code standards set by the team
Define software and/or system architecture, design software modules, and produce associated documentation per relevant standards
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams
Advanced knowledge of data structures and algorithm implementation within the C and C++ programming languages
Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects
Strong organization skills and work ethic
Qualifications We Prefer
Understanding of industry standard software languages such as C, C#, C++, HTML, Java, Python, and Bash
Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repository, and automated build
Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral
Experienced with data structures
Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral
Familiarity with software version control systems (subversion, git, etc.)
Familiarity with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, unit test, and automated build (Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Github Actions, Pull Requests, etc.)
Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, and other native programming languages
Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio and cross‑compilation
Familiarity with Real‑Time Operating Systems and embedded systems
Familiarity with computer graphics programming (OpenGL / Vulkan)
Familiarity with linear algebra, statistics, calculus, and trigonometry
Interest in avionics systems, embedded software (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, FPGAs), drones, robotics, computer vision, control systems, and computer networking
