Summary Balfour Beatty is seeking a Sustainability Project Manager to join our team. Ideally, this individual will report to either our Dallas or Atlanta office, but we will consider someone who is remote.

The Sustainability Project Manager drives the successful execution of sustainability initiatives by developing detailed project plans, coordinating cross‑functional collaboration, and influencing business alignment with strategic priorities. This individual ensures timely progress reporting to executive leadership while tracking financial and operational impacts using technology‑enabled project management tools.

Essential Functions Support sustainability 3rd party organizations, selected by UK and US senior leadership (50%):

Responsibilities

Provide operational support for sustainability initiatives as directed by UK Group Sustainability and the SVP of Safety and Sustainability.

Coordinating meetings and facilitating communication across departments.

Identifying and engaging internal subject matter experts.

Gathering and organizing relevant data, including financial metrics, operational standards and company information.

Compiling and analyzing data for completeness and accuracy for quarterly reporting to the UK.

Providing external audit requests during interim and year‑end audits.

Assisting in the evaluation and prioritization of sustainability initiatives based on strategic goals and impact.

Managing carbon analysis, including gathering information, writing reports and performing forensics for Civils initially and then Buildings.

Working with vendors such as Guidehouse.

Project Management (50%) Lead the development and execution of detailed project plans for key sustainability initiatives.

Creating comprehensive project plans with defined milestones, deliverables and executive‑level presentations.

Providing regular progress updates to the executive team and UK Global leadership.

Tracking and reporting financial and operational impacts of initiatives.

Leveraging project management tools and technology to monitor timelines and resources.

Education/Certification Earned degree in business administration, including general business, project management, finance, fixed asset accounting and construction management.

Minimum Requirements

5 years of project‑management experience.

Preferred Requirements

Proven experience in onsite project management within the construction or infrastructure industry, ideally with a demonstrated interest in forensic assessment of economic sustainability and energy‑efficiency initiatives.

Strong project‑management capabilities, including the ability to lead complex projects under tight deadlines while maintaining schedule and deliverable integrity.

Practical, hands‑on understanding of Balfour Beatty US Construction and Infrastructure operations at the project level.

Soft Skills

Self‑motivated and disciplined individual contributor with a strong sense of ownership.

Skilled at synthesizing large volumes of data into concise, executive‑level summaries.

Collaborative mindset with the ability to drive change through partnership and shared goals.

Solution‑oriented approach to problem‑solving and decision‑making.

Work Conditions Office work and field work on job sites to include construction and infrastructure worksite. Travel will be determined by location of the incumbent but could be up to 25%.
