Job Summary and Responsibilities Under general supervision, the Radiology Tech II is responsible for operating radiology equipment to produce imaging films and perform radiographic and cardiopulmonary procedures for routine diagnosis and treatment. Specialized procedures include venography, myelography, and gastrointestinal exams. The Technologist ensures safety, patient comfort, and proper documentation.
Produce and perform all diagnostic radiographic procedures, to be interpreted by the physician or radiologist.
Position patients and adjust equipment for diagnostic imaging following established procedures; examine radiology films and/or digital exams for density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
Take x‑rays of various body parts to diagnose disease or injury.
Follow safety principles, radiation protection, and the general comfort and care of the patient.
Record test results and monitor patient data.
Maintain radiographic log, in accordance with policy, documenting exam, patient name, and retake reasons.
Maintain separate report on all diagnostic x‑rays.
Maintain accurate department records to satisfy state and federal regulations.
File and maintain shipping and receiving log of radiographs and other diagnostic tests requested.
Maintain current MSDS forms for the radiology department.
Calibrate and maintain x‑ray equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Education and Licensure
Associate's degree from an accredited school of radiologic technology (required).
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – must maintain current status.
Certified by the State of Texas – MRT; must maintain current status.
BLS certification (required).
Experience
Two (2) years clinical experience in radiologic technology (required).
Position Eligible for $10,000 Sign‑On Bonus
