Title : Part-time Proofreader
Location : St. Louis, MO
Company : Fortune 100 Food & Beverage Manufacturing (FuseGlobal has worked with this company for 20 years)
Initial Term : 12 months (position expected to run longer)
Schedule : 20 hours/week. Monday - Thursday onsite; Friday WFH
Position Summary Responsible for proofing consumer‑targeted communication materials generated by the agency. Strong grammar skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are a must. A positive, can‑do attitude will contribute to a key support role on an agency team. Additionally, the Proofreader will proofread packaging and other consumer collateral material.
Primary Responsibilities
Proofread all content generated by the production/digital design group.
Ensure accuracy against original approved copy.
Maintain proper grammar and spelling.
Call out variances from conventional typographic treatments.
Verify correct size and type specifications.
Confirm correct placement of copy on layout.
Ensure proper use of trademarks.
Verify proper coupon codes, expiration dates, ingredient statements, and legal mandatories.
Apply current Federal Trade Commission packaging requirements regarding type and symbols.
Keep all documents current with industry and legal standards.
Communicate effectively and exercise good judgment when interacting with creative, client, and regulatory teams.
Support additional responsibilities for record‑keeping, process management toward quality control, and other administrative support as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree required; English major preferred.
Three or more years of professional experience in proofreading, copyediting, or creative content.
Critical knowledge of spelling, editing, and grammar.
Ability to read and process a large volume of content accurately to meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, including record keeping and process improvement.
Ability to interface effectively with creative, client, legal, and regulatory stakeholders.
Knowledge of digital keyline process, Macintosh computers, and word‑processing programs.
Fastidious attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits
