What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Collaborate with Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to shape credit metrics and narratives
Influence decisions and identify opportunities within Upstart’s credit platform through in-depth analytics
Lead and develop analytics on underwriting decisions, credit monitoring, and valuation modeling
Build foundational forecast models, data pipelines, and automated reporting for credit intelligence
Mentor junior team members on best practices in data, credit, and analytics
What is Required (Qualifications)
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in technology and financial industries
Expertise in credit analytics and quantitative financial model development using Python, R, and SQL
Experience in data modeling and decision-making supported by large datasets with tools like Databricks and Snowflake
Degree in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or other quantitative fields
Strong analytical skills with the ability to craft narratives around complex business topics
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially in Finance, Product, and ML
Experience in consumer lending strategy or investment in consumer credit capital markets
Proficiency in creating executive-ready narratives using visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI
Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members on technical subjects
