The University of Arizona's Speech Language & Hearing Science invites you to apply for the role of Research Coordinator. The primary purpose of the Communication PALS Lab Research Speech‑Language Pathology Coordinator is to support research in speech, language, respiratory, and communicative participation domains. This role entails significant involvement in developing, facilitating, and administering research protocols, providing oversight of protocols in different sites, directing participant research activities, facilitating and evaluating data management procedures, coordinating research assistants, and disseminating research findings. The Research SLPC will operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing leadership to research assistant team members and contributing to innovation in research methodology and lab operations for adolescents with developmental disabilities. This position will require flexibility in schedule to accommodate participant visits and protocol demands, including weekends and non‑traditional hours.
Pay $65,687.00/yr – $85,393.00/yr

Duties & Responsibilities
Direct participant research activities.
Apply clinical speech‑language expertise and knowledge of communication sciences to monitor participant engagement, safety, and protocol adherence during study procedures.
Act as liaison as a subject matter expert with the lab director and research assistant staff, ensuring integration of research and clinical priorities, and escalating concerns appropriately.
Monitor literature on communicative participation for adolescents with developmental disabilities to propose enhancements in project research approaches.
Collaborate with investigators and other clinical team members to design and refine research activities and data protocol workflows.
Design and maintain communicative participation data systems, databases, and tracking tools to ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility.
Utilize in‑depth knowledge to generate reports and data visualizations to monitor study progress at different data collection sites.
Oversee data collection workflows at different collection sites; ensure proper data collection and processing of cognitive‑linguistic data.
Represent the UA Communication PALS Lab in the community by creating and delivering communicative participation educational materials, training sessions, and protocol briefings for participants, caregivers, and research personnel.
Train and manage student research assistants.
Support pilot testing, calibration, validation, and iteration of experimental tasks for understanding communicative participation – including speech, language, and respiration tasks for adolescents with developmental disabilities.
