Certified Payroll Specialist

to join their team! This individual will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting certified payroll reports in compliance with prevailing wage laws and project-specific requirements. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of both state and federal labor compliance standards. Responsibilities:

Prepare and process certified payroll reports in accordance with Davis-Bacon and state prevailing wage requirements. Audit weekly payroll records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Review timesheets, job codes, and classifications to ensure proper wage determinations. Maintain detailed records of employee hours, pay rates, deductions, and benefits. Communicate with project managers, field supervisors, and accounting to verify job details and resolve discrepancies. Submit certified payroll reports to general contractors and government agencies on time. Stay current with changing wage determinations, union agreements, and compliance laws. Support internal and external audits related to certified payroll and labor compliance. Assist with other payroll functions, including data entry, reconciliations, and reporting as needed. Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in payroll processing, including certified payroll. Strong knowledge of Davis-Bacon Act, state prevailing wage laws, and labor compliance. Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Viewpoint, Foundation, or similar). Advanced Excel skills and attention to numerical accuracy. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines. Preferred:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar designation. Experience working in construction, public works, or government contracting. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.
