Base pay range:
$85,000 - $110,000
The California Post
will open a brand-new newsroom on the West Coast and be a game‑changer, putting the people of the Golden State first and holding the powerful to account across digital platforms and print. It will focus on hard‑hitting news, entertainment, sports and tech, delivering sensational journalistic coverage that resonates with our audience.
Responsibilities Produce, shoot, and edit compelling, shareable long‑form digital videos that cover a wide range of topics from national news and Hollywood to business, innovation, sports, and tabloid fare. Execute stories from conception through completion, conducting deep research and pre‑production on each topic.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience creating video for digital platforms
Proficiency in shooting DSLR cameras with interchangeable lenses and operating a DSLR on a Ronin RS4 Pro
Background in journalism with the ability to pitch, produce, and script
Strong news judgment, good writing skills, knowledge of current events, and excellent communication and people skills
Expertise with key productions in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, and familiarity with After Effects)
Awareness of the latest formats and trends in digital video as a distinct form of content
Strong aesthetic eye and cinematic tendencies
Enjoy working collaboratively and accurately in a fast‑paced but fun environment
Attention to detail and a commitment to journalistic values of accuracy and fairness
Familiarity with California is preferred
