Full-time position with a stable schedule, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm
What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Manage DOT utility accounts and process vendor payments
Process Service Transfer Invoices, Construction Estimates, and Consultant Agreement payments
Approve vouchers for payment and reconcile payment discrepancies with vendors
Perform bookkeeping and basic accounting activities, including maintaining and balancing accounts
Prepare simple financial statements and assist with complex financial statements
What is Required (Qualifications):
Four (4) years of experience in complex clerical work in fiscal/administrative functions such as accounting or budget management
Knowledge of bookkeeping, financial record keeping, and basic governmental accounting principles
Ability to audit financial documents and understand applicable statutes and regulations
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in arithmetic computations and ability to utilize EDP systems for financial management
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience processing various types of payments, including vendor payments
Experience with reconciliation of accounts and resolution of payment discrepancies
Customer service experience in communicating with internal and external customers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Familiarity with CORE-CT or similar financial software
