Electronic Design Engineer IC – Principal As part of a fast-movingteam, the principal design engineer will develop broadband, high-efficiencypower amplifiers. Working in our design center located in Mesa, AZ, thecandidate must be able to architect, design, layout, measure and productizeGaN-based power amplifiers for mMIMO 5G/6G applications.
Responsibilities
Developnext-generation multistage amplifiers for wireless communication systems -from concept through to productization.
Architect,schematic design, layout, hands-on laboratory characterization of highefficiency, linear broadband amplifiers.
Manageproject, support customers, work with applications, product and testengineers.
Job Qualifications & Responsibilities
Proventrack record of multistage mMIMO product design and innovation for 5Gcommunication systems.
In-depthexperience with GaN on SiC or LDMOS technologies for RF applicationsgreater than 5W.
Developmentof innovative power amplifier solutions for single and multiband highefficiency Doherty applications.
Experiencewith design, tapeout and verification of integrated passive devices.
Experiencewith EM modelling tools is required (ADS, HFSS, Sonnet, etc.).
Experienceautomating/scripting common design tasks to improve development efficiency(AEL, Python, Matlab, etc.)
Beresponsible for the design, drafting, testing, and releasing of new poweramplifier products.
DesignRF amplifier evaluation boards and production test fixtures.
Devicetesting and characterization including s-parameters, large signal,load-pull, stability over temperature and VSWR, as well as market specificmeasurements on a per-product basis. Be responsible for status reports bycollecting, analyzing, and summarizing test data.
Worksclosely with cross functional teams including product management,marketing, systems and algorithms teams, product engineering, operations,reliability, quality, test engineering, and procurement.
Followa formal stage-gate new product introduction process.
Teamleadership experience is an advantage.
Abilityto characterize products hands on in the lab.
Abilityto support a product through the entire product development and releasecycle.
Abilityto investigate power amplifier technical challenges, clearly articulatelimitations and propose solutions or mitigating strategies.
Strongwritten and verbal communication skills, with the specific ability tospeak to various technical and management levels.
Willingnessto travel when required.
Mentorjunior RF design engineers.
M.S.plus 8 years of RF design experience.
Ph.D.plus 6 years of RF design experience.
