Overview Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized sonographic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Executes basic clinical competence in Sonography across all locations and patient types, selecting accurate equipment and technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.

Applies knowledge of Sonography principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, physics, positioning and patient care skills; appropriately performs high level disinfecting procedures to meet organizational infection prevention standards; adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.

Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.

Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment, maintains supplies and inventory in area, informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors, and documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.

Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality; actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.

Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound Educational Program

RDMS Certification

Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
