Insurance Defense Associate, Chicago
I am currently working with a leading law firm in this field, who are actively looking to hire an Insurance Defense Associate to join their growing Chicago office.
Job Description:
They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance defense law and litigation, with the ability to effectively represent clients in various legal proceedings.
Responsibilities:
Handle a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception to resolution.
Conduct legal research and analysis on complex insurance issues.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
Attend court hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers.
Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on legal matters.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Illinois state bar and in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing insurance defense law.
Strong litigation skills with a proven track record of success.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Prior experience with insurance carriers and familiarity with insurance policies is preferred.
Anticipated Base Pay range (dependent on experience): $150k-$170k per annum.
