Base Pay Range $140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Position Overview Business Development Director, reporting directly to the Americas Head of Sales, based in New York City. New role carrying full P&L responsibility for four emerging distribution channels: Travel Retail, Corporate Sales, Distributors, and Indies partner.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Support Head of Sales and Chief of Staff in development of a 3‑year business plan.
Develop yearly full P&L budget and subsequent financial milestones, aligning with Diptyque's long‑term growth objectives.
Lead commercial and strategic planning efforts across Americas, building regional business cases and analysis to support market entry, distribution model and business expansion.
Drive delivery of top‑line and bottom‑line targets for each channel through robust financial planning, resource allocation and ongoing performance monitoring. Deliver monthly and quarterly action plans to drive Sell‑out and Sell‑in.
Nurture relationships with key partners and lead monthly and quarterly reviews with them across all channels.
Develop client portfolio strategically and lead prospection plan for corporate sales.
Ensure partners in all channels meet Diptyque's expected brand image and standards of execution.
Build operational excellence focusing on high standards and efficiency for all channels with full 360 strategy.
Prepare and implement product assortment strategy and forecasts.
Support strategic assessments of market entry opportunities, considering commercial, logistical and regulatory implications.
Partner with legal and finance to prepare & execute commercial terms and agreements.
Monitor LATAM for changes that may affect business strategy, including economic, geopolitical or operational shifts.
Support leadership to define long‑term regional structure and future resource needs.
Lead cross‑functional project planning and execution for regional initiatives, partnering with local partners and Paris HQ.
Liaise with relevant internal departments to facilitate project execution and resolve issues.
Ensure that regional timelines and decisions are documented and communicated clearly to all stakeholders.
Prepare clear, board‑ready proposals and presentations on regional performance, new initiatives and commercial priorities.
Deliver timely, complete and accurate information to support informed decision‑making, anticipating stakeholders’ questions.
Drive strategic meetings and business review preparation, consolidating cross‑functional input into actionable updates.
Own meeting documentation and follow‑up tracking across initiatives related to each channel.
Plan efficient market visits throughout the year with partners and field team.
Lead by example, model behaviours reflecting Diptyque's core values, set clear goals, foster culture of excellence, engender partnership, coach team.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or related field (preferred).
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development, including travel‑retail & distributors.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets in a consumer‑driven industry, preferably beauty, fashion or luxury goods in US and LATAM.
Strong appreciation and understanding of luxury market.
Strong leader with successful record of engaging teams and influencing cross‑functionally to deliver results.
Experience in multinational matrixed organizations with ability to enhance and streamline processes, implement best practices.
Thrives in high‑speed entrepreneurial and lean structure, with proven ability to swiftly move high and low.
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills; can build and actively manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L.
Strong commercial acumen and proven track record of driving negotiations successfully.
Strong strategic thinker with extensive experience developing & executing strategies and plans.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; delivers clear and effective presentations.

Fluency in English and Spanish (required).
Travel: 50%.
