JOB SUMMARY The Senior Reservoir Engineer Portfolio Optimization & Management (POM) is a high-impact individual contributor role responsible for providing reservoir engineering and analytical support across BKVs full energy portfolio. This position helps drive value-driven asset optimization by blending deep technical reservoir analysis with data analytics and commercial insight. The Senior Reservoir Engineer will play a core role in deal due diligence, risked opportunity evaluation and strategic portfolio analysis to inform investment decisions. Working closely with cross-functional teams this role leverages forecasting decline curve analysis and scenario planning to maximize asset value and align technical evaluations with BKVs portfolio optimization goals. This role has no direct people management responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio Support & Optimization Analyze and monitor the performance of existing assets across upstream fields, CCS projects and midstream facilities.
Utilize decline curve analysis (type curves) and reservoir performance data to identify underperforming wells or fields.
Work with operations and asset teams to implement best practices for reservoir management.
Due Diligence & Opportunity Analysis Conduct rigorous reservoir evaluations for acquisitions, divestitures or new ventures.
Perform risked economic analyses and support decision-making with uncertainty modeling.
Assist in data room reviews and technical due diligence for corporate development.
Data Analytics & Forecasting Leverage data analytics and modeling tools to develop accurate forecasts and reserve estimates.
Maintain and improve portfolio forecasting models and databases.
Identify trends and anomalies in large datasets to guide prioritization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Decision Support Collaborate closely with geoscientists, drilling/completions, facilities engineers, economists and commercial teams.
Contribute to scenario planning exercises and utilize decision support tools.
Prepare clear technical presentations and decision support materials for senior leadership.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Deep understanding of reservoir engineering principles and oil & gas industry standards.
Strong analytical and data modeling skills; proficiency in Excel and industry software.
Solid business acumen; ability to link technical analysis to economic outcomes.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Advanced collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills.
Growth mindset with adaptability and grit.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline required; master’s preferred.
5 years of reservoir engineering experience with forecasting, reserves evaluation and asset development.
Proven experience in conventional and unconventional reservoirs required; CCS or EOR a plus.
Experience working with cross‑functional teams.
Field operations exposure is beneficial.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS This position is in Denver, CO at BKV Headquarters. Hybrid.
Some travel up to 10%-15% may be required.
A hybrid of indoor and outdoor working environments depending on assignment.
Requires the ability to perform repetitive motions, operate standard office equipment.
May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise levels while sharing office space with others.
SALARY RANGE $138k - $196k Target Bonus: 25% LTIP Eligible
