Job Description We are looking for a Director, Operational Governance to join our growing team! You are a strategic leader responsible for establishing and maintaining operational discipline, governance frameworks, and project execution excellence across the organization. You will report to the Vice President, Operations Support, Platform Innovation & PMO and oversee the enterprise project management office, ensuring all strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and cross‑functional programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with corporate objectives. You will also lead the development and enforcement of governance standards, operational policies, and performance reporting to ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all operational domains.
Strategic Leadership & Governance
Define and implement the company's operational governance framework, including decision rights, performance standards, and reporting structures
Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and control mechanisms to ensure operational compliance, consistency, and efficiency
Partner with executive leadership to prioritize strategic initiatives and allocate resources effectively across business units
Lead regular operational review cycles and governance forums to ensure alignment with corporate goals and risk management protocols
Project Management Office (PMO) Oversight
Build and lead a high‑performing PMO responsible for planning, executing, and delivering enterprise‑wide projects and transformation programs
Develop standardized project management methodologies, templates, and tools based on best practices (e.g., PMI, Agile, or hybrid frameworks)
Oversee project portfolio management, ensuring initiatives are aligned with strategic priorities and deliver measurable value
Monitor project health, budgets, timelines, and risks, providing executive‑level reporting and escalation management
Coach and mentor project managers to strengthen execution capabilities and foster a culture of accountability and delivery excellence
Operational Performance & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with Operations, Finance, IT, and other functional leaders to drive process optimization and operational efficiency initiatives
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to measure governance effectiveness, project success, and operational performance
Identify operational risks and lead mitigation planning in partnership with business stakeholders.
Champion data‑driven decision‑making and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Act as a central point of contact for executive leadership on program and governance matters.
Deliver clear, concise updates on portfolio progress, dependencies, and business impact to senior stakeholders
Promote cross‑functional alignment and collaboration to ensure successful project execution and sustainable change adoption
Qualifications What it takes to catch our eye Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required (Business, Operations, or related field preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of program or project leadership experience
10+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry supporting business operations
Proven experience leading operational governance and strategic program offices
Skills & Competencies
Expertise in communication, change management, and staff development
Strong project and program management abilities, including building methodologies and tools
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks
Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze complex data and drive strategic outcomes
Ability to manage multiple priorities and synthesize business needs into actionable strategies
High emotional intelligence, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent project/process improvement training
Experience developing executive‑level reports and dashboardsDeep knowledge of telecom systems, industry practices, and operations
Physical Demands & Work Conditions Primarily office‑based; frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
Domestic travel up to 30% may be required, occasionally on short notice.
May require extended hours or weekend work during critical project phases or deadlines.
