Sr. Active Directory Engineer (Contract)
We're hiring 2 Senior Active Directory Engineers for a 6-month remote contract with strong potential for extension up to 2 years. This role supports a legacy Active Directory environment undergoing a major transition and consolidation effort.
Microsoft Entra ID experience is an absolute must-have.
Role Overview You will support the maintenance and decommissioning of over 100 domain controllers in a legacy environment, working closely with internal teams to assess activity, compliance, and readiness for migration. This includes server upgrades, log analysis, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD environments
Support domain controller decommissioning and compliance efforts
Analyze logs and activity to determine usage and retirement readiness
Collaborate with internal teams to assess and document domain controller status
Perform server upgrades and promotions (not initial builds)
Required Skills
Extensive Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD administration experience
Strong PowerShell scripting skills
Experience with domain controller maintenance and decommissioning
Server administration experience
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate findings clearly
Position Details
Location: 100% Remote, based out of Sioux Falls, SD
Start Date: November 30, 2025
Duration: 6 months with potential extension up to 2 years
Pay: $60–$85 per hour
Interview: One‑step process with program oversight and mentorship
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Fully remote.
Pay And Benefits The pay range is $60.00–$85.00/hr.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
