Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Computer Science with 2 years of professional experience, or a related Master's Degree with no experience.

Proficiency in Object Oriented and Python programming languages, with experience in developing and applying analytical models and simulations.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government security clearance at the Secret level.

Must be a US Citizen.

Job Description What We’re Doing

At Lockheed Martin, we are shaping the future of defense through cutting‑edge Operations Analysis (OA). Our work directly supports the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Strategic Studies Group (SSG)—a team dedicated to envisioning and enabling the next generation of capabilities for our customers and the warfighter. We drive innovation through modeling, simulation, and analytical insight to inform Lockheed Martin’s product strategy and the Department of Defense’s operational concepts for the future battlespace.

The Work

As a member of the OA organization, you will join a multidisciplinary team conducting modeling, simulation, and analysis of military systems. Your studies will quantify the impact of new operational concepts (CONOPS), system designs, payloads, weapons, and tactics on mission effectiveness and survivability.

Key Responsibilities

Formulate analyses and assist in developing study plans.

Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to refine objectives and key questions.

Research performance characteristics and operational details of military systems.

Model systems and scenarios using AFSIM and other M&S tools.

Execute trade studies using constructive engagement or mission simulations.

Quantify and assess Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs).

Analyze simulation results using data analytics to draw actionable insights.

Communicate findings through technical briefings, visualizations, and reports.

Support cross‑Lockheed Martin digital simulation, virtual reconstruction, and wargaming activities.

Additional responsibilities include operating with some direction, helping determine study objectives, defining analytical approaches, and delivering impactful recommendations for leadership and customer decision‑making.

Please note This position can be based out of King of Prussia, PA or Marietta, GA. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government security clearance at the Secret level. Must be a US Citizen. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10%.

Requirements:

Strong foundation in operations research, systems engineering, applied mathematics, or a related field.

Experience with modeling & simulation tools (e.g., AFSIM) and data analytics.

Ability to communicate technical findings to various audiences.

A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for team‑based problem‑solving.

Desired Skills

Military operational experience.

Experience with AFSIM modeling and simulation tools, techniques, and methodologies.

Experience with programming languages such as R, MATLAB, or Excel VBA.

Modeling & Simulation experience, including familiarity with tools such as AFSIM, Cameo, or System Modeling Language (SysML).

Experience with version control systems like Git/Gitlab.

Familiarity with Agile practices and execution.

Experience with data visualization and analysis tools.

Pay Rate The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
