Position An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Education Facilitator within our Professional Development Department: 1 x 37 hour post based at University Hospital Crosshouse and 1 x 22 hour post based at Ailsa Hospital.

What You Will Do

Enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and positively contribute to the future nursing/midwifery workforce.

Work closely with practice learning environments to positively enhance the learning environment for staff and students, upholding the values of NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

Support staff, practice supervisors and practice assessors and practice learning environments within the current educational and development programme.

Collaborate with the Lead Practice Education Facilitator, the wider Professional Development team, NHS Education for Scotland and local Higher and Further Education institutions.

Knowledge, Training and/or Experience

Enthusiastic registered nurses and midwives with current NMC registration.

Degree level education with knowledge of contemporary nursing and midwifery practice and education.

Currently active as a Practice Assessor within your clinical area, with proven track record of supporting, supervising and assessing nursing and midwifery students and healthcare learners.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and work collaboratively with others; excellent digital technology and information systems skills.

Hours • 1 x 37 hour post – Monday to Friday • 1 x 22 hour post (reducing to 21 hours in 2026 with RWW) – Monday to Friday Post is offered on a permanent basis.

Driving Licence / Car Ownership Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
