What to Expect The EHS Specialist, Logistics Operations, will collaborate with global, regional, and site-specific EHS teams, logistics management and fleet operations teams, and internal and external business partners to create and implement EHS systems and programs to manage EHS compliance obligations and reduce EHS risk within logistics operations.

This position will work with teams to establish and oversee legal compliance and risk reduction programs for the operation of transport trucks and vehicles traveling across roadways of North America to deliver Tesla vehicles, parts, and energy products, to service and delivery locations and parts distribution centers (PDCs) across the business network. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, able to work independently, is self-driven, and works well within cross-functional team environments. This individual also takes pride in their analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail. He/she appreciates a setting where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.

What You'll Do

Provide direct support to logistics operations including fleet operations and vehicle movement teams, support team leadership and support the development and implementation of EHS management systems with regional supervisors, managers, and senior leaders

Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, programs, and systems that incorporate first principles thinking in driver and equipment selection, evaluation, training, inspection and maintenance

Establish EHS performance objectives, aligned with the global EHS vision and values, and ensure the tracking and reporting of metrics and performance against these key performance indicators for fleet safety

Identify training requirements for logistics drivers, support teams, and establish a training curriculum in compliance with country regulatory requirements and company policies

Lead analysis and investigation of work-related events and communicate learnings throughout the organization

Collaborate with internal and external business partners to develop and support safe work procedures, including during load/unload operations, across land, sea, air, and rail operations

Audit new work sites and support site design, layout, and process development efforts to integrate safety for logistics and vehicle movement operations

What You'll Bring

3+ years of experience working in the field of logistics and fleet operational safety; additional experience or proof of superior knowledge and ability in the field preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Supply Chain Operation, or equivalent experience

Familiarity and understanding of shipping logistics and transportation principles and concepts, including over-the-road and railway transport, car haul business understanding a plus

Familiarity and understanding of US Federal DOT/FMCSA and Canada CCMTA regulations, audits and reporting guidelines

Experience working closely with federal, state, and local agencies across US, Canada and Mexico

Demonstrated experience in implementing EHS policies and programs across diverse teams

Knowledge of new site openings process or experience with construction and logistics EHS functions a plus

Expected Compensation $70,400 - $120,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
