Position Summary
As a Vision Center Manager, you will drive sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, budgeting, forecasting, and assessing economic trends and community needs.
Key Responsibilities
Model, enforce, and provide direction to Associates on proper customer service approaches to resolve complaints within company guidelines and standards.
Oversee implementation of community outreach programs and encourage Associates to serve as good community members.
Ensure compliance with company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for the Vision Center, analyzing reports and implementing asset protection, safety controls, and operational QA.
Provide supervision and development opportunities, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and recognition.
Consult with and educate Members/Customers on eyewear, selecting products based on needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidentiality, performing minor frame repair, and maintaining optical equipment.
Manage job‑related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders, setting goals, measuring progress, and addressing improvement opportunities.
Promote a culture of belonging, teamwork, integrity, and continuous learning while holding self and others accountable.
Deliver customer‑centric results, adapt to evolving shopping behaviors, and apply business models such as EDLP and EDLC.
Make data‑driven decisions, balance short‑ and long‑term priorities, and consider the impact on all stakeholders.
Lead continuous improvement efforts, embrace new technologies, and support others through change.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of 2 or more years of college, or 1 year of retail experience plus 1 year of supervisory experience, or 2 years of general work experience with 1 year in optical.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising associates.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly wage range: $29.50 – $39.50 (equivalent to or above minimum wage in the job location).
Performance bonuses (annual or quarterly).
