Coach (Prop 28): Instrumental Sectional Coach – Independence High School As one of California’s largest high school districts, we offer rewarding and exciting employment opportunities that impact our students and community in a positive way. We are looking for passionate instrumental music coaches to support classroom instruction during the regular school day, working with a credentialed teacher at District High Schools and supporting the school’s beginning, intermediate, and advanced instrumental music students.

Qualifications and Certifications

Experience in instrument-specific pedagogy (winds, percussion, guitar, piano, strings, etc.), rehearsal planning and implementation.

Experience teaching high‑school‑aged students.

Experience teaching small group and one‑on‑one instruction.

Key Tasks / Duties

Collaborate with the Instrumental director(s) so as to align with overall goals of the program.

Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group instruction designed to enhance students’ technical proficiency.

Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group instruction designed to enhance students’ musical expression.

Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment.

Serve in this capacity by being assigned to instrumental music classes.

May need to teach at multiple sites to meet base assignment requirements.

Salary: $5,507.00 – $10,347.00 per year.
