Title Substation Protection & Control Engineer (Remote)
Location Remote US, preferred Central or Eastern Time Zone
ICF is seeking a Substation P&C Engineer, to work on the design of relay and protection & control projects on high‑voltage substations at voltages from 12 kV to 500 kV with the goal of delivering high‑quality work for our clients.

What You Will Be Doing
Design and preparation of protection & control drawings:
Protective schemes
Substation relay one‑lines and three‑lines
AC/DC schematics
Substation panel layouts
Substation wiring diagram and cable schedule
SCADA and communication diagrams
DC systems calculations
AC systems calculations
Development of equipment specifications and selections based on client criteria
Development of bill of materials based on design criteria
Coordination with drafting and settings disciplines to ensure quality deliverables
Participation in client meetings and site visits for data gathering as required
Interpretation and incorporation of vendor information into design deliverables
Application of client standards related to the work
Provision of field support during construction
Ensuring company QA/QC processes are followed on all design packages
Continuous improvement of engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
What We Need You To Have (minimum qualifications)
BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering
2+ years of protection and controls experience
2+ years of experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
What We Would Like You To Have
Engineering in Training license (EIT)
Professional Engineer license (PE)
Advanced user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
Knowledge of industry standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, blueprints, and drawings
Pay Range $73,722.00 – $125,327.00 (Nationwide Remote Office, US)
