The Senior Project Manager is a senior‑level role responsible for managing complex, high‑visibility projects and programs that are critical to MetroPlusHealth’s strategic objectives. This role works with stakeholders at all levels to oversee the execution of project/program goals, measure and communicate overall success, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead large‑scale projects, ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are met.
Develop project plans leveraging project management methodology, including setting concrete measurable goals, defining project scope and timelines, and allocating and engaging appropriate stakeholders.
Collaborate with business units to understand requirements and develop project plans/charters.
Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
Ensure adherence to EPMO governance and compliance standards.
Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards.
Anticipate and communicate risks up front.
Serve as the central point person responsible for ensuring that projects are executed within agreed upon timeframe.
Organize, attend, and actively engage in stakeholder gatherings.
Act as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, providing updates on status, managing expectations, and ensuring satisfaction.
Gather and analyze data to support project goals.
Document and communicate decisions or discussion points in meeting summaries.
Create progress reports and PowerPoint presentations tailored to various audiences, including executive and C‑suite leadership.
Escalate issues and barriers for timely resolution.
Provide ongoing administrative support and oversight of projects.
Identify and communicate areas for improvement in project management and execution.
Provide regular updates to leadership through status reports and dashboards.
Share ideas on best practices and emerging trends in project management.
Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members.
Manage expectations and address stakeholder concerns.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care, or a related field (master’s preferred).
PMP certification required.
Additional certifications preferred (PMI‑ACP, Scrum Master).
7+ years of project/program management experience.
Proven track record of delivering large‑scale projects or programs.
Strong knowledge of waterfall and Agile project management practices.
Experience with tools like MS Project, JIRA, or similar platforms.
