Director of Production Operations
Job Summary
Skillshot Media is hiring a Director of Production Operations to lead operations and engineering across esports live streams, live broadcasts, original content, and post‑production at our Uptown Atlanta studio, steps from the MARTA Lindbergh Center station. This is an on‑site role recruiting local talent from Atlanta, GA, and surrounding areas. You will partner closely with the Executive Producer, Head of Production, Engineer In‑Charge, and COO to scope shows, standardize workflows, and ensure our facilities and teams deliver flawless, on‑time productions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Drive department‑wide communication workflows; ensure tech, show producers, and operations receive timely information
Coordinate technical infrastructure and plans: video/audio, transmission, set/stage prep, comms, budgets, personnel requirements, set layouts, camera plots, and seating charts
Manage vendor relationships and production accounts; coordinate receiving, payment, and paperwork under EP guidance
Oversee shipping and receiving for digital and physical assets; maintain organized delivery and file management for all parties
Set and enforce production department deadlines and cross‑department milestones
Maintain systems and processes for tournament integrity across all esports events
Oversee custom server builds per title; coordinate game client needs with responsible parties
Act as the first point of contact for crew needs when a production manager/coordinator is not assigned
Schedule, manage, and lead production meetings internally and externally when a PM/PC is not assigned
Ensure production team follow‑through; coordinate needs between production and other departments
Co‑own purchasing for production with the Executive Producer and the Facility Engineer in charge
Build and maintain databases for tech books, show books, event information, and operational schedules with EP and the Head of Production
Develop detailed plans for expansions and upgrades; present for approval before execution
Coordinate production crew needs with outside departments under EP direction
Develop and enforce technical operational policies and procedures; generate performance and issue reports for operations, engineering, and production
Maintain active logs of system errors/issues/defects; submit updates to EP and/or Head of Production every 30‑60 days or as needed
Proactively communicate issues to operations, engineering, production management, and ownership, including reasonable solutions
Key Success Indicators
Deep understanding of broadcasting, production operations, and crew management
Strong knowledge of current esports trends and general gaming
Proficient with Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Tasks, Keep); familiarity with DWG/CAD tools a plus
Exceptional organization, time management, and cross‑functional collaboration (Sales, Production, Finance)
Skilled in planning workflows for crew management and file organization
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to manage highly visible leaders and lead small teams within a production environment
Hands‑on, collaborative mindset; comfortable engaging across departments
Calm and decisive under pressure, especially during live broadcasts
