Job Summary We’re hiring an Executive Assistant to support two executives: our CTO, Mark Ross, and our Chief Architect, Saptadeep Pal. We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Assistant to provide dedicated support to senior executives. This role is designed for someone who has already mastered high‑level executive support and thrives in a fast‑moving, high‑impact environment.

This role demands sharp instincts, attention to detail, and calm under pressure. The pace is intense. You’ll need to anticipate problems before they happen, adjust in real time, and protect three executives’ time and calendar. You’ll manage three complex calendars, coordinate travel and meetings across multiple time zones, and ensure your executives are consistently prepared and on schedule. The right person is adaptable, anticipates needs before they arise, and is willing to provide support during evenings or weekends when critical priorities demand it.

This is a tactical, execution‑focused role for someone who takes pride in precision, remains calm under pressure, and finds satisfaction in keeping operations running seamlessly behind the scenes.

Prioritize ruthlessly, protect focus time, and manage a high volume of requests

Coordinate with internal teams, candidates, board members, and external partners

Book and manage multi‑leg travel (flights, hotels, transportation, meetings, etc.)

Plan internal events and offsites, coordinating space, food, and logistics

Support dinners and external gatherings with professionalism and discretion

Triage and prioritize inbound email and messages

Help manage reminders, follow‑ups, and important threads

Take notes during key meetings and track action items

Handle ad‑hoc tasks that keep the team focused and unblocked

Coordinate with the Chief of Staffs to align on scheduling, priorities, and internal workflows

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive‑level polish

Strong analytical and organizational abilities with rigorous attention to detail

Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑expectation environment

High integrity and discretion, with a proven ability to handle confidential information

Exposure to venture‑backed technology companies or founder‑led environments a plus

You may be a good fit if you have

A high sense of ownership. You treat every detail like it matters (because it does)

A desire to learn. You ask smart questions, seek feedback, and improve quickly.

How We’re Different Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model‑specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single‑model ASICs.

We are a fully in‑person team in West San Jose, and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
